Marketing planning goes beyond just advertising and promotions: it is a business discipline that provides the blueprint for achieving the company’s overall corporate goals.

 

A marketing plan is about setting specific objectives to achieve the company’s goals and developing specific strategies that will best achieve those objectives.

A marketing plan will incorporate a review of the company’s current business operations, market research relevant to business development and a competitor analysis.

A marketing plan will include a product or service analysis; pricing and terms of sale review; a marketing communications strategy; a plan for logistics and warehouse management; a plan for customer service; a skills analysis and training for sales and marketing personnel and a review of the company’s marketing process.
